Baptiste Stanek 5tet

The Baptiste STANEK Quintet is a dynamic ensemble consisting of Marta Wajdzik, Juan Ibarra, Thiago Duarte, Wes Georgiev and Baptiste Stanek.

After an enriching year of collaboration in the renowned FOCUSYEAR program (focusyearbasel.ch), these five musicians have decided to continue their musical journey together.

Their recent 4tet tour of South America, which took place from August 18 to September 1, 2024, took them to Montevideo, Mercedes and Maldonado in Uruguay.

In June 2024, the quintet recorded an album consisting of original compositions by Juan Ibarra and Baptiste Stanek, written over the course of the year. The album will contain 12 compositions combining candombe and modern jazz and will be released on LOUMI Records in May 2025.

The band will present the album as part of a tour that will take place in Switzerland and Europe in May 2025.
